Neighbours, Friends and Families is a campaign to raise awareness of the signs of woman abuse so that people who are close to an at-risk woman or an abusive man can help.
This campaign is a partnership between the Ontario government, Ontario Women’s Directorate and the Expert Panel on Neighbors, Friends and Families, through the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children.

BILL 168
Under Ontario’s revised Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), all employers in Ontario are now responsible for taking reasonable precautions to protect workers when domestic violence follows them to the workplace. In response to the new legislation, introduced by Bill 168, the Centre for Research & Education on Violence against Women & Children (CREVAWC) has developed a workplace training program and a website to promote and facilitate the responsibility of workplaces to address domestic violence in the workplace.
Neighbours Friends and Families @WORK
Our training program, Neighbours, Friends and Families at Work (NFF@Work) teaches employers, managers, supervisors, human resource professionals, health and safety officers, security personnel, union representatives and co-workers to recognize, respond and refer in situations of workplace domestic violence.
There are a variety of training options and all are free of charge.
Level 1 – Provide Information
Introduce the NFF Campaign to your employees and provide them all with the brochures
Level 2 – Increase Understanding
All employees receive a one-hour educational session about woman abuse/domestic violence with instruction on how to recognize warning signs and take appropriate action.
Level 3 – Lasting Organizational Change
Comprehensive training for select staff to build organizational capacity to develop policies/procedures and respond to specific situations, and train internal workplace facilitators to deliver the one-hour presentation.
