The Development Committee

The Women’s
Rural Resource Center
The Development
Committee is the only committee of the Board and is responsible to oversee
public communications for the agency and establish the fundraising plan.
Committee Members:
Include three members of the
Board of Directors, the Executive Director and community volunteers.
Term for committee membership is a minimum of 1 year. Committee
members may also participate on specific event committees i.e. IQ
Challenge, Daisy of Hope etc.
Fundraising:
Some of the fundraising activities include direct mail out, event
functions such as IQ Challenge, BBQ’s, Daisy of Hope campaign each May,
etc.
Communications:
The committee establishes goals and develops action plans to raise the
agency profile and communicate the results to the public. Assists
with development of media related planning.
Time Requirements:
The committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 pm
to 8:30 pm in the WRRC board room. We do most of our planning in meetings
and look for full participation from all members. Other time requirements
include attending fundraising activities, meetings to plan the activities,
special events, and orientation sessions.

availability of a safe environment for use by women and their children
2. Enhance
women’s capacity to make informed choices
3. Support
and promote community accountability for woman abuse
4. Provide
advocacy for abused women who require WRRC services
5. Ensure
financial accountability in the management of WRRC resources
