Women's Rurual Resource Centre is hosting an open house in honour of International Women's Day.

The open house will invite the entire Middlesex Community through the doors, and offer tours and information about what the shelter does on a daily basis.

"People know us as an emergency shelter," says Business Development Manager Cara Campbell. "But really, we're much more."

WRRC has expanded it's programing in recent years, to include family and children's counselling, advocacy work, and food security.

The latter will be a theme at this year's event. WRRC has run an "Unstoppable" Community Garden for the last three years, helping to fill the shelves of it's Community Cupboard with fresh, healthy produce.

The garden has truly been a community experience, and this year, WRRC is looking for addition volunteers to expand that community involvement.

International Women's Day is officially Wednesday, March 8, but WRRC will hold the Open house on Friday March 10th.
