 About WRRC

We are a community resource in education, prevention and support services for women and children impacted by abuse. Our vision at Women's Rural Resource Centre is to end abuse of women and children. We believe it is possible, and we need your help. Learn about abuse and why it continues, and then teach others. Contrary to what most people think, abuse is not an isolated, private experience. WRRC staff speak at community organizations such as schools, service clubs and churches to share with them how everybody can help end abuse.

While engaging the wider community, we also work directly with women and children who have been affected by abuse. We help them find a different way of being in the world, and provide the practical and emotional tools to help them get there. For people lucky enough to have never experienced abuse, it is hard to understand just what that means. But to our clients, it is the most precious gift imaginable.

Located in Strathroy, Ontario, the agency provides service throughout Middlesex County.

Services include individual counselling and groups for women and children, temporary emergency housing, second stage housing units, as well as transition support for legal appointments, income support programs and housing information.

In addition, WRRC staff regularly give presentations and workshops to schools and community groups to raise awareness about woman abuse and how to end it.
